I thought it would be nice to upload some of my recent homework for my art class. Expect some more as the weeks go by..

Medusa

Chironex fleckeri, or Box Jellyfish. I've wanted to draw a jellyfish for a long time now, but unfortunately, as is always the case, this is not entirely what I had envisioned. Regardless, I still believe this is a fairly compotent peice that holds it's own.

I made this about a year ago for my illustration class. Really, I think it's the only thing I've made for school that I particularly like (A bit of a shame.) It's supposed to represent the difficulties for non-white foreigners to acquire Visas, and therefore attain legal allowance into the United States.

First Week

A week has passed now, and unfortunately I have nothing new to post. My pig is nearly done, though I can't decide what kind of background I would like to give it. Hopefully I'll have more to share soon..

Pig - Unfinished

Originally a half assed idea/experiment, I've been working on this for the past few days. I've never used a black colored pencil to render my drawings before, but after viewing some examples online, I felt I had to give it a try. I really like the way it's coming along, and I think I'll be using this technique again in the near future.

I created this blog for the purpose of having all of my art in one convenient place, but also with the hope that it'll encourage me to keep up with my [soon to be] portfolio. Mostly for my benefit, I'll be gradually posting sketches, drawings, finished projects, and I suppose anything else that I feel is necessary. Exciting, huh? That is to say, if all goes as planned, which may or may not happen, depending on how enthused I feel about this.
